    Lovely B&B
    breakfast could be more diverse
Minnan Inn is a common brand for 4 different accommodations in Jincheng Township, numbered 1-4. We booked a stay in the cheapest number 1 (1500 TWD per night). Soon after booking I was contacted by the owner, who in electronically translated English offered us a paid upgrade to no 4 which we politely refused. The owner didn’t insist more on the upgrade, but answered some basic questions about the nearest restaurant (Jincheng city center) and bike rental (Jincheng city center) which made our planning much easier. I must say that even though I was confused by the offer of the upgrade, I appreciated further email contact with the owner. When we arrived the owner showed us two different accommodations - the room in an old Fujian house accessible through a nice patio and a room in a historical western style house. Both accommodations were situated along a picturesque small street lined with traditional Fujian houses. We ended up picking the western style house, because it had a normal window and was better ventilated. The room was perfectly clean. Funny thing was the bathroom, which was just a shower enclosure put in the corner of the room, with a toilet inside, placed right below the shower (see pictures) - it turned out to be more practical that one could think and should be regarded more as a curiosity than a real downside. Wifi in the room was working very well. The area was super quiet, we had a perfect sleep. Breakfast included in the price consisted of a paper cup of filtered coffee and a warm toast, both brought by the owner from the nearest Seven Eleven supermarket - nothing really special, I would have much more prefered some traditional Chinese breakfast. To sum up: given absolutely lovely scenery, helpful owner and super clean room, this was one of the loveliest B&Bs we have ever stayed in.
